Cloud Formations Are Fun

Cloud formations are fun. They are never the same, and they change so quickly. The hardest thing for me is that I usually am driving when I see the coolest formations. This one I was attempting to take the picture while driving, not such a good idea. So, my wife made me pull over so she could drive while I took pictures.
On my way home from work one night I saw this formation. I had to pull over and get this picture. It was not the best part of town to take pictures if you are trying to avoid power lines and such, but it was an awesome sight. It looked like God was playing with a paint brush in the sky.

Overexposed But Cool As Heck

Sometimes my favorite pictures happen on accident. This picture was over exposed and but by editing it to pull out as much color and contrast as I could get it turned out to be one cool shot.

Salt Lake Temple

One of the challenges that I have given myself is to take pictures of all the Temples in Utah. The Salt Lake Temple is still one of my favorite temples to take picture of, it is no wonder that it is the iconic symbol for the LDS church.

Fall Colors 2011

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the colors. I love the crispness of the air just before it starts getting cold. The contrast between the evergreens and the other foliage is stunning. I myself have struggled to capture the beauty in the grand landscapes of  hillsides, but that has forced me to realize that the intimacy of closer shots is what I really enjoy.

Just 4 Fun

Well, I finally decided to create this blog for my daughter and I to share our photographic adventures and experiences. I consider myself fairly new to photography compared to some of my friends, but I am developing and growing as I go.
I have always liked to take pictures, but it wasn't until a couple of years ago when I watched a film by DeWitt Jones that I became enthralled with taking pictures. The video is called What's Right In the World. This film completely change my perspective on how I looked at the world around me. I hope you enjoy the message as much as I did.

My daughter, I found, had a natural talent for taking pictures and she has a style that I really like. I think you will enjoy it as well.
My wife used to get on my case because I wouldn't take pictures of people when we were on vacation. Since those days I have found myself loving out door portraits. And since have begun to hire myself out for them. I decided that I might as well start making a little bit of money on the side to help pay for the tools I want. So, Milligan's Fotos 4 Fun will be a place for my daughter and I to show some of our favorites. Hope you enjoy!
